Daniel Sexton, CFP®

Mr. Sexton is a co-owner of RS Crum and serves as the lead financial advisor for many of the firm’s clients.

With RS Crum since 1996, Dan is the most senior member of the RS Crum team and has actively participated in nearly every facet of the business.  He currently manages the Trading and Account Administration team and is the firm’s Compliance Officer.  Dan is well versed in a variety of financial planning areas and works closely with all of our advisors to ensure seamless integration of investment objectives.  Dan graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Minor in Economics. Dan received his Certified Financial Planning designation in 2009 and is an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

Dan and his wife, Kristi, are empty nesters with one daughter, Cassie.  Dan and Kristi are active supporters of Alley’s Rescue Angels, a Siberian husky rescue, from which they have adopted two huskies, Timber and Xander, and one imposter, Ajax.  All to the chagrin of their cat, Rogue.

When not tending to the collateral damage of sixteen paws, family and friends play an important role in Dan and Kristi’s life, especially when it comes to game nights and travel.  Dan is always looking for the next good read, movie or, his latest obsession, podcast.  Among his favorite podcasts are the iFanboy Pick of the Week, Stuff You Should Know, 60 Minutes, and The History of English.

“Having recently turned fifty, retirement has been on my mind.  My savings goal in the next year is to maximize my retirement plan savings.  Travel is also important to Kristi and I.  We find exploring new places and cultures fun and exciting.  We’ve been fortunate to share many of our adventures with Cassie and have forged great family memories.  Having recently been to Africa our next big trip is a few years away, but high on the list is Europe and the Mediterranean.”
